NEWS FLASH!!! Sharon Westlake enjoyed her first #1 hit record with "Dreamin' Out Loud" which went to #1 in August
2003 on TCM Radio in Brentwood, Florida. Also, Sharon's song "Starting
Over Again" went to #69 on the American Traditional Country charts in
April 2004!
Sharon is getting ready to release her new CD "Embers Of The Heart", recorded partially at DarkHorse Studios, Brampton, Ontario (produced by Randall Cousins), and at Creative Artists Group in Hamilton, Ontario, (produced by Bill Geekie) and at Quad Sound in Nashville, (produced by Mick Lloyd).
SHARON WESTLAKE has been performing professionally for many years on the Southern Ontario club circuit. Her versatility enables her to deliver everything from a traditional heartbreaker to a driving country-rocker, as shown on her current CD "Global Stagecoach". Hot off the heels of a string of "hits", Sharon presents some sizzlin'.......new stuff, along with many of her radio favorites in a complete package that draws attention to her undeniable talent. Released January 11th, 2002 and now available on-line at www.cdbaby.com, songs from this CD are being played worldwide, and response has been outstanding, especially in Europe where Netherlands DJ Harry Boerman says "This lady has it !!"
2001 chart ratings showed her riding high with her rendition of the Floyd Cramer classic "Last Date".
Early 2000 saw Sharon storm up the charts with Steal Me A Heart, a toe-tapper written by Nashville's Dan Fitzgerald, and backup vocals were provided by friend and fellow artist Erica Kildau.
Check out her review by John Gavin on the Atlantic Seabreeze website.
A major highlight of Sharon's career was a 1993 guest appearance on the General Jackson Showboat in Nashville, Tennessee.
She is currently working on a new CD to be recorded at the Creative Artists Group, and she is writing new material with songwriter/musician Pete Sisk whose "Losing My Memory" appears on the "Global Stagecoach" CD.
Sharon was one of the 7 judges at the Canadian Open Country Singing Contest which ran from July 11-13
2003 in Simcoe, Ontario. Sharon also was one of 3 judges at the Ontario Open
Country Singing Contest in Wingham, Ontario June 2004! Special
thanks to Ernie LaPalme!
